My friend and mentor passed away 8 years ago today. It was a day that I will never forget, as it was the only time in my life that I've ever had the misfortune of being in a hospital knowing that soon a close friend will pass. It's a very difficult thing and my heart goes out to anyone dealing with a similar situation. Mike, to me, was always this beacon of light, confidence, and strength, and to see him as he was at that time was tragic. But I knew that he left the world better off than it was when he came into it.

None of us know the day when we will take our last breath, but we all know that day will come. Please keep this in mind and live your life with the goal of making other's lives better. That is the only legacy that is worth leaving behind. Forget the trivialities that clutter our daily existences, and remember, YOU can leave a lasting and positive imprint on the lives of those around you. What will people remember you for?

I am a nerdy guy who had been collecting comicbooks based on artistic expression. One day back when I was in college I came upon Ballistic which was incredibly drawn. I learned Michael Turner was the artist behind it. Something about his lines drew me to begin collecting his works. I had most of them but I was not sure if I got them all 100%. Anyway, when I had my first real job back in 2008, I learned about Michael's death. It shocked me, how could someone be so young and be so talented be so sick and live life just a few years after becoming so famous. And then I read that Michael, though how short his life was,  lived his life to the fullest which made it seem like a very long life. I didn't quit collecting his works, I was patient for each one of his work to be sold in our country. It was the only way I could pay a tribute to the guy who made collecting comicbooks awesome again. Ballistic, Witchblade, Superman/Batman, Fathom, Soulfire, Tomb Raider/Witchblade, so awesome to be able to collect Michael's works! Cheers to you Michael Turner, for inspiring the creative person in  me.
